The 18-19 credit Indiana Youth Development Professional Certificate is designed to help you understand the unique challenges facing adolescents and young adults in our rapidly changing world, understand and apply conceptual approaches to youth development, and to display an understanding of the development and impact of local, regional, state, and federal policies on youth. In this certificate, students will focus on working with youth in service organizations.

The Indiana Youth Development Professional Certificate may be completed as preparation for the Indiana Youth credential or as part of the technical certificate or associate of applied science in human services degree.

Professional/Technical Core:  18-19 credits

IYDP 101 Child/Youth Development 3 credits
IYDP 102 Families and Communities 3 credits
IYDP 103 Health and Safe Environment 3 credits
IYDP 104 Content and Curriculum for the Youth Professional 3 credits
IYDP 115 Development for the Youth Professional 3 credits
IYDP 280 Internship 3-4 credits

The first class, IYDP 101 Child/Youth Development, begins in the fall 2010. To sign up for the class, you must first complete a free application with Ivy Tech Community College at ivytech.edu/applynow.
