Is it Right for You?

  • Are you a teacher's aide in a classroom setting?
  • Do you supervise youth care workers?
  • Are you a scout leader?
  • Are you a summer camp counselor?
  • Do you work in an after school program?
  • Do you work in a youth center?
  • Do you work with youth in a church, synagogue or temple?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, the IYD Credential is right for you.

Eligibility
To be eligible you must meet the following minimum requirements:

1. Are you 18 years or older?
2. Do you have high school diploma or GED or more?
3. Have you worked/volunteered at least 480 hours in the field during the past 5 years?
4. Are you working with children and youth between the ages of 5 and 18?

There are currently two tracks for obtaining an IYD credential:

1. Standard Process designed for individuals with a High School diploma or GED
2. Alternate Process designed for individuals with an Associate, Bachelor or Master Degree in Youth Development or a related field.

If you are not sure which process is appropriate for you, please contact the YouthPRO office at (317) 259-9491 or info@indianayouthpro.org.
